Prepare to journey back in time to the very heart of Genghis Khan's homeland with this extraordinary 10-day adventure through Binder and Batshireet Soum in eastern Mongolia. We'll traverse the breathtaking landscapes on horseback, camping in spots that were likely inhabited by the legendary Genghis Khan and his warriors a thousand years ago. This immersive experience offers a glimpse into Mongolia's rich history and unparalleled natural beauty.

 

Our journey begins with a rendezvous upriver, where we'll embark on an unforgettable expedition. We'll fish, raft, and float our way down the majestic Onon River, uncovering the hidden treasures and might of this untamed waterway. Each night, we'll make camp along the riverbank, immersing ourselves in the tranquility of nature and gazing at star-filled Mongolian skies. While the days are filled with leisurely floats, the trip is a true adventure that exposes us to the elements and the raw, unspoiled beauty of Eastern Mongolia.

  • 5 days of horseback riding through the beautiful Khentii Mountains alongside the Onon River 20-30 kms a day

  • 4 days rafting down the Onon, stopping to swim, site see and explore everyday

  • 10 nights camping under the stars

  • Hearty and healthy camp food every day prepared by our camp chef

  • Fully supported with guides, drivers and a camp cook

  • Visit historical sites along the way as we explore Genghis Khan’s birthplace

  • All riding, rafting and relevant safety equipment provided

IS THIS TRIP RIGHT FOR YOU?

​

  • Intermediate horse riding skills are required for this trip. Although we will not be galloping or riding in difficult terrain we will still be covering between 20 and 30 kms over the course of 5 to 6 hours riding per day.

  • Comfortability on a raft and in the river is important. There is no white water on this trip but we will be on the rafts for 4 full days. Participants must feel comfortable being on a boat with safety equipment for extended periods of time.

  • We will be camping every night of the trip. This trip is vehicle supported but we will be camping in tents under the stars every night, this means no running water, no electricity, and no toilet. Please be prepared for some simple living!
